Edwin Shin

Director

Edwin Shin has over 15 years of industry experience in software engineering, analytics, linked data and digital asset management. Part of the original Cornell University research team that developed the Fedora Repository, he served as one of the principal developers and Steering Committee members for the Fedora and Hydra Projects. Edwin received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in 2003.

Mahmood Kalantar has over 20 years of experience in consumer products. Mahmood joined TRA in 2020 from Secondmind.ai, a leading AI decision startup in Cambridge UK. Prior to that Mahmood worked for Samsung where he led data-driven marketing platform in Southeast Asia and Oceania region. An Alumni of INSEAD, Mahmood received his MSc from the Swedish University of Turku.

In partnership with ThoughtWorks, TRA built a datalake with fully automated infrastructure on AWS that supports the needs of data scientists, business analysts and marketing managers alike.

A large electronics manufacturer wanted better, more efficient customer targeting. TRA developed and deployed a model that accurately predicted which of their customers were most likely to purchase one of their flagship products in the next 30 days. Presently, our model is deployed across nine countries.
